Toronto & Niagara

Here are some pictures from our time in Toronto. As the week progressed, we grew to like Toronto, discovering some quite cool areas like Kensington Market and Yorkville. We don't feel we experienced the true Canada though as the city is very cosmopolitan and we were actually staying in Chinatown.

The two best experiences were visiting Niagara Falls and the CN Tower. Niagara on the Lake is also gorgeous with quaint little boutiques and a beautiful lake-side setting. The Falls are amazing with the Horseshoe Falls being the more impressive of the two. Definitely worth a visit.

The CN Tower was amazing. Not sure how high up we were but we dined in the rather swanky 360 Restaurant, alongside the likes of John Travolta! The restaurant revolves a full 360 degrees in 70+ minutes so you get to see all of Toronto's sites. After eating in the restaurant, we went to the viewing platform and there is a portion of the floor that is reinforced glass. You can stand on it and look down at the street 100s of feet below you. Not for the faint of heart, I can tell you. Dan overcame his immense fear of heights and joined me for a moment on the glass which incidentally can hold 14 hippos! Not sure how they managed to get 14 hippos up in the lift in the first place....

Boston and Maine - Our Lobster Quest!

After the excitement of New York, we moved onto Boston. There's definitely a different feel here to the Big Apple. This is a university town boasting Harvard and MIT amongst others. Our time in Boston was split between Hostelling International @ Fenway near the Boston Red Sox ground and the YMCA! We had a brief trip to Cape Cod too but as I managed to get us lost in Boston, delaying our departure by one and half hours, we didn't quite get to see as much of Cape Cod as we'd hoped but we did get to sleep in the car which is always good?

Before leaving from Boston, Danny and I ventured into Maine - Lobster country! We hired a car and headed for Rockland for the annual lobster festival and then onto Bar Harbor visiting a number of places on the way.
