Aloha from Hawaii
Our time in Hawai'i on the island of O'ahu was wonderful. After almost three weeks on the road in America, we were happy to just relax, unwind and do nothing other than veg out. As you can imagine, it's pretty gruelling not having to work and simply have fun and travel around all day!
We really dropped on in Hawai'i. We managed to get a room at the Waikiki Sand Villa hotel for our thirteen nights at a very affordable rate (incidentally, some of our hostels have been more expensive). The hotel was clean and the staff were really friendly. There was a bit of work going on but nothing too intrusive and as there was a gym and a pool, we were more than happy. Oh, and free internet in the room allowing us to finish the America leg of the blog, always a bonus.
As I've said, we did very little in Hawai'i. We probably should have explored a little, island hopped and the rest of it but we were more than happy to stay put, eat well, do some exercise and catch a few rays. We completely depleted the stock of Pina Colada at the local supermarket and watched an awful lot of "Everybody Loves Raymond" on the laptop (our now favourite US sitcom).
We were literally a five minute walk from the world-famous Waikiki beach which was nice and the weather was superb, around 85° every day. The Hawaiian lifestyle suited us for our thirteen night stay and if anyone is thinking of going there, Danny and I would thoroughly recommend it.
